Who is responsible for your information?
Christopher Proudfoot is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Questions or requests about your information can be sent to author@christopherproudfoot.com.
Information collected
When you use a contact or school-visit enquiry form, the information collected may include:
- Your name, email address, organisation, and location.
- The type of enquiry or service you are interested in.
- Preferred dates, delivery method, pupil age range, and estimated audience size.
- The contents of your message and any other information you choose to provide.
Please do not include confidential pupil information, medical information, or other sensitive personal data in an enquiry.
How and why the information is used
Your information is used to respond to enquiries, discuss school visits or other services, prepare quotations, make booking arrangements, keep appropriate business records, and protect the website from spam or misuse.
The lawful bases relied upon are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing an agreed contract, complying with legal obligations, and legitimate interests in responding to genuine enquiries and operating a secure website.
Who receives the information?
Enquiries are delivered by Resend, an email-delivery provider operated by Plus Five Five, Inc. Information may also be handled by website hosting, IT, or professional service providers where reasonably necessary. Personal information is not sold or rented and is not used for unrelated marketing.
Resend's primary processing operations are in the United States. Its data-processing terms provide safeguards for international transfers, including the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and contractual safeguards where required. You can read Resend's privacy policy.
How long information is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking will normally be retained for up to 24 months after the last contact. Information connected with a booking, payment, dispute, or legal obligation may be retained for up to six years. Information may be deleted sooner when it is no longer needed.
Local storage and cookies
The public website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. If you choose a visual theme, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage so it can be remembered on that device. It is not used to identify you or track your activity across websites.
A strictly necessary, secure session cookie is used only for the private availability administration area. It is not used for public visitor tracking.
Privacy-conscious visitor statistics
The website keeps limited page-view logs to understand which public pages are useful and to monitor site performance. Direct page loads are recorded by the web server, while a small first-party request records page changes made through the website's navigation without reloading. These logs contain the page path without its query string, date and time, response status and duration, response size, broad browser and device categories, and the referring website's domain where available.
The visitor-statistics log does not contain IP addresses, cookies, full user-agent strings, full referring URLs, form contents, admin activity, or API requests. It is not used to identify individual visitors or track activity across other websites. Logs are normally deleted after 30 days.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the use of your personal information, and to receive a portable copy. To exercise a right, email author@christopherproudfoot.com. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Complaints
Please contact Christopher first if you have a concern so it can be addressed. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Security and changes
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. This notice may be updated if the website or its services change.
