Local businesses, lasting stories

Sponsor a Print Run

Put a copy of Ria the Anxious Hermit Crab into the hands of local children.

Every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy of reading, explore their imagination and find stories that help them understand themselves, their feelings and the world around them.

Local businesses can help make that possible by sponsoring copies of Ria for children in local schools. You don't need to organise anything. Simply choose how many copies you'd like to sponsor, and I'll take care of the rest.

How it works

  1. Choose your print run

Choose how many copies your business would like to sponsor. Your print run will include your business logo and details on the inside cover, with thanks and recognition for your support.

  2. Choose a school — or leave it to me

Tell me which local primary school you would like to support. I'll contact the school and arrange for the books to reach its pupils at no charge. If you don't have a school in mind, I'll identify a suitable local school on your behalf.

  3. Meet the author

Every sponsorship includes a full-day author visit. I'll introduce pupils to Ria, talk about being a children's author and explore how stories help us understand feelings such as anxiety. Depending on the school's needs, the day can include storytelling, author Q&A and creative activities. I can sign the books on request, too.

  4. Put books into children's hands

The sponsored books can be given directly to pupils to keep. Your support puts an actual book into a child's hands for them to enjoy for years to come.

Every option includes a full-day author visit

From £440

The larger print runs don't have to be distributed all at once. If you sponsor 500 or 1,000 copies, for example, the books can support future school visits and projects, allowing your sponsorship to continue reaching children over time.

The larger the print run, the further your sponsorship can reach.

Discuss a print run

Have a school in mind?

Perhaps your business already works with a local school, or there's a school in your community you'd simply like to support.

Tell me which school you'd like to help and I'll do the rest: make contact, discuss the opportunity and arrange the author visit and book distribution. If you don't have a school in mind, I'll be happy to identify one.

Can two businesses sponsor together?

Absolutely. Two or more local businesses can jointly sponsor a print run and author visit, sharing the cost and recognition.

For example, Business A and Business B could jointly sponsor 250 copies and a full-day author visit. Both can be recognised as supporters. If you'd like to share a sponsorship, just get in touch!

More than a book

Ria is a story about anxiety, friendship and finding the courage to talk about our worries. By sponsoring a print run, your business can help children:

Become a Story Partner

Help bring the next story to life

Ria is just the beginning. I'm developing a growing collection of children's books inspired by real aquatic animals from around the world. Each combines imaginative storytelling with meaningful themes that help children explore important issues and emotions.

Future stories will explore grief, resilience, belonging, neurodiversity, friendship, bullying and environmental conservation. Each aims to open up conversations that can be difficult to start, while introducing children to fascinating aquatic animals and the natural world.

Support a Future Story

Businesses can also support the development of future titles, helping with:

  • Writing and development.
  • Professional illustration.
  • Printing.
  • Getting books into local schools.
  • Author visits connected to new titles.
  • Creative resources for teachers and pupils.

You don't need to know which future book you'd like to support. If there's a theme that matters to your business or community, I'd love to talk about how it could become part of a future story. Getting involved from the beginning can involve a permanent credit or dedication within the book.

Your support could help create a book that children will discover, enjoy and remember for years to come.
